I’m half a world away and I’m not even a citizen of the country but today, as I listen to President-elect Obama’s acceptance speech and as I watch the celebrations going on around the world, I can’t help but feel a change in the wind.
I haven’t been around to witness too many elections, both Canadian and American, and the number of elections I have cared about are even less. I remember the mood of the last election when Bush was re-elected. It was a 180 to the feeling today.
I definitely feel a positive tone. It feels like this election has and will continue to impact not just Americans but people from all over the world. I’m hoping today that people will continue pushing this positive energy forward because it seems like we’ve had nothing but negativity for the last few years.
I am looking forward to this.

We arrived at Honolulu on 10/11.
Our hotel room in Waikiki was 1011.
Our flight number from Honolulu to Kona was 1011.
I was almost afraid to get on the airplane.
