Fuitadnet.com is horrible
February 07, 2007
You now begin my account of the horrible time I had with the webhosting company, Fuitadnet.com. Warning: it’s one big giant angry rant. Ready?
I strongly discourage anyone from ever doing business or acquiring any services or products from Fuitadnet.com. They are horrible.
My site had been hosted there for a bit over a year. I had just renewed another year when I got an email around early December warning of delays due to server migrations. The email had stated that my server (CPANEL10) would be moved around December 24th. Unfortunately I don’t have the email proving this. I wasn’t too concerned because they had sent this email early and from what it sounded like, my site would only be down a short time. In fact, that date rolled by without any noticeable problems at all.
It wasn’t until around January 6-10 (don’t remember exactly) when my site went down. I logged into the control panel located at https://67.15.28.10:2083/frontend/x2/index.html and it showed no files. Fearing the worst, I logged in via FTP but was relieved to see all my files were still intact. I quickly did a backup of my files and my databases just to be safe. I thought the migration was going to cause some trouble so I just let it go and hoped my site would come back quickly. It didn’t.
Finally, on January 16, I got tired of waiting so I tried the support chat:
January 16th
You are now chatting with Sunil (Support)
Sunil: Hello Jerry.
Jerry Leung: hello Sunil
Sunil: How may I assist you ?
Jerry Leung: My domain, www.feeldontthink.com, has not been opening in a web browser for one week now
Jerry Leung: when I open it, it just looks like an empty directory
Jerry Leung: But when I log into Cpanel, the files are all there
Sunil: Checking, Please stand by.
Sunil: Jerry, your site is being migrated on a new server.
Sunil: The DNS propagation will take time.
Jerry Leung: How much time?
Sunil: It will take 24-48 hours maximum.
Jerry Leung: It’s taken one week already. I will wait two more days.
Sunil: Don’t worry your data is intact.
Jerry Leung: One more thing, billing@fuitadnet.com does not seem to be working.
Jerry Leung: I’ve tried sending emails but it keeps bouncing.
Sunil: Yes, its having some technical issues, but will be shortly issues.
Jerry Leung: Ok.
Jerry Leung: Thank you for your answers, Sunil.
Sunil: Welcome. Jerry.
There. He said “24-48 hours maximum”. To me, that equals 1-2 days. Well, nothing came back up. Nope. Not only that, I couldn’t email their billing or support email addresses - they kept bouncing.
Just a quick side note here. My other domain, jvision.ca was hosted on the same server. Since this went down, I couldn’t access emails from either domain. Unfortunately, the email address I use to log into the billing area was jerry@jvision.ca. I didn’t seem to be able to log in so I tried asking for the password. Unfortunately, they could not send the password and I couldn’t get it anyway since my email was down. I couldn’t contact the company. So I waited.
Oh yes another thing. The forum on their homepage. I tried creating an account to leave messages there but the verification picture wouldn’t load. You know those stupid pictures that contain some letters and numbers like CHJT81 that you have to enter into a field to prove you’re real? Well, it wouldn’t load so I couldn’t even create a forum account. Eventually I could create the account but get this, my account was not given high enough status to post messages - I couldn’t only watch and not write about my problems. Yesterday I tried emailing one of the moderators about this - he/she has not gotten back to me and I doubt that they will neither.
Ok, next. I waited five days:
January 21st
You are now chatting with dinesh (Support)
dinesh: Hello
Jerry Leung: hello dinesh
dinesh: how can i help you ?
Jerry Leung: when we last talked, you said my two domains were still being migrated to a new server
Jerry Leung: that was about 7 days ago
Jerry Leung: my domains still do not load up in a web browser
Jerry Leung: www.feeldontthink.com / www.jvision.ca
Jerry Leung: in total, I’ve had about 10 days of downtime
dinesh: checking
Jerry Leung: still with me?
dinesh: I am on it
dinesh: the domain jvision.ca needs NS refresh
dinesh: And the domain feeldontthink.com will be up soong
dinesh: soon*
dinesh: i am on it
Jerry Leung: what is NS refresh?
dinesh: Please mail the issue for the NS refresh Rahul and kunal are the concern person for it
dinesh: It is a DNS refresh
Jerry Leung: where should I mail to?
dinesh: Please mail the issue on the :– support@fuitadnet.com
Jerry Leung: ok. I hope the email is working again.
Jerry Leung: I look forward to my domains being back up.
dinesh: It will be up shortly
Jerry Leung: thank you for your help, dinesh
dinesh: Welcome
dinesh: have a nice day
Again, a promise: “It will be up shortly”. WRONG! I took his advice and emailed support@fuitadnet.com. To this day there has been no reply to any emails sent there. Bitches.
Let’s keep rolling shall we?
I now sent feedback to their Complaint section with the following:
January 30th
I am very disappointed and frustrated by the service at Fuitadnet.com. My two domains hosted by Fnet, have been down at least two weeks now. I have sent at least 3 messages to both support and billing but they get bounced back and when they do go through, I get no reply.
The online chat support does not resolve any issues - all I get is that “it will be fixed soon”.
Next, I can’t log into billing because I don’t have my password. I click on Send Password but the email address I use for billing is for the domain that is down: I can’t access emails from that address.
Finally, to add insult to injury, I tried creating a user in the forum - it worked but I can’t post messages because no one has cleared my registration. I can’t even leave messages on the forum.
I need someone from this company to get back to me and tell me what they will do. I demand that I get reimbursed for at least the last two weeks because I have not received what I paid for: web hosting.
And reply? Nothing!
February 1st
I tried emailing both support@ and billing@ but of course, no replies. I tried the LiveSupport but it timed out before anyone came.
[February 2nd]
Finally! Something happening! JVision.ca came back online! But I couldn’t log into the control panel because it just said some filed had expired. Feeldontthink.com? Great - it was just pointing to JVision.ca and the control panel had nothing new to report neither. Now, my email at jerry@jvision.ca was working again but I still couldn’t get into the billing section. So I tried support chat again:
You are now chatting with Sunil (Support)
Sunil: Hello Jerrt.
Jerry Leung: hello Sunil.
Sunil: *Jerry
Sunil: How may I assist you ?
Jerry Leung: It seems one of my two domains is working again.
Jerry Leung: But the other one is not
Jerry Leung: feeldontthink.com is currently pointing to another domain
Jerry Leung: but I don’t want it to be pointing anywhere
Sunil: Ok, checking. Please stand by.
Sunil: Please tell me where you want it to point out.
Jerry Leung: well, no where. I want it by itself
Jerry Leung: I had a webpage there before
Sunil: Ok, checking. please stand by.
Sunil: Do you have a back up of your Database ?
Jerry Leung: yeah
Sunil: Hello Jerry you there ?
Jerry Leung: yeah, it have backups
Jerry Leung: *i
Sunil: Please upload your backup in .sql format in your home directory & place a support ticket.
Sunil: So that we will restore the same
Jerry Leung: I can’t log into upport
Jerry Leung: support
Jerry Leung: my password isn’t being sent
Sunil: Please mail at billing@fuitadnet.com
Jerry Leung: ok i’ll try…
Sunil: So that the billing will escalate the issue to the technical department
Jerry Leung: ok
Sunil: Fine.
Sunil: Any other issue for which I can assist you ?
Jerry Leung: not at the moment then. Thank you for your help today, Sunil.
Basically somehow I was tricked into believing something would be done. Nothing had been solved and I still couldn’t email stupid billing@fuitadnet.com. What bullshit was going on???
February 3rd
Finally, the straw that broke the camel’s back:
You are now chatting with Sachin Dixit (Support)
Jerry Leung: hello
Jerry Leung: my domain: www.feeldontthink.com, has been incorrectly pointing to jvision.ca
Jerry Leung: and emails to support have gone unanswered
Jerry Leung: what’s up?
Sachin Dixit: Hello Jerry
Sachin Dixit: How can I help you ?
Jerry Leung: my domain: www.feeldontthink.com, has been incorrectly pointing to jvision.ca
Jerry Leung: and emails to support have gone unanswered
Sachin Dixit: Let me check
Sachin Dixit: Let me know the username
Sachin Dixit: and the cpanel login details for your account
Jerry Leung: hang on one second
Jerry Leung: L: (blah) P: (blah)
Sachin Dixit: jvision.ca — is this your addon domain ?
Jerry Leung: well, I have two domains
Sachin Dixit: Or does this domain belongs to you ?
Jerry Leung: I don’t want them pointing to each other
Jerry Leung: yes, it belongs to me too
Sachin Dixit: Dear Jerry … Please be clear
Sachin Dixit: This is your main domain jvision.ca
Jerry Leung: I have different webpages
Sachin Dixit: am i right ?
Jerry Leung: right now, feeldontthink.com is not displaying the webpages I want shown
Jerry Leung: i’m not really sure what is an addon domain
Sachin Dixit: please answer my question
Jerry Leung: my main domain is feeldontthink.com
Sachin Dixit: should i repeat myself ?
Jerry Leung: yes
Jerry Leung: you still there?
Jerry Leung: guess not
Sachin Dixit: Hello
Sachin Dixit: Hello
Jerry Leung: hello
Sachin Dixit: Please check now
Sachin Dixit: everything should be working fine for you know
Jerry Leung: it’s not loading in my web browser
Sachin Dixit: Check your cpanel now
Jerry Leung: when I load jvision.ca and feeldontthink.com, i see the same page.
Jerry Leung: I should NOT be seeing the same page
Sachin Dixit: What !! i am in your cpanel
Sachin Dixit: I am facing no problems at all]
Jerry Leung: Well, how much disk space usage do you see?
Jerry Leung: I see 0
Jerry Leung: in fact, on ftp I have a few Mb of data uploaded
Sachin Dixit: Do you have a reseller account ?
Jerry Leung: no
Jerry Leung: no
Jerry Leung: I haven’t touched anything in cpanel since the server migration
Sachin Dixit: You will get only one cpanel if you have a shared account … you can not have a seperate Cpanel for every doamin
Sachin Dixit: Do you get that
Jerry Leung: I used to though
Sachin Dixit: That’s the reason i asked you which is your main domain
Jerry Leung: well, either way, what I want to see is my wordpress blog when I open up feeldontthink.com in IE.
Sachin Dixit: Please email to biling@fuitadnet.com
Jerry Leung: I’ve emailed them many times
Sachin Dixit: For more information on that
Jerry Leung: is someone actually going through emails?
Jerry Leung: I can’t post any messages on the forum neither
Sachin Dixit: Please email to support@fuitadnet.comSachin Dixit has left the chat conversation
Yup. Brushed off because he didn’t tell me what “addon” domain means. It was never an issue before. Basically this prick’s attitude sent me running to another webhost. I was tired of being jerked around by this poor excuse of a start-up company. Now this prick had the nerve to brush me off. No way.
The Competitior
I signed up at Globat.com right away. The same day I got my account verified by a real person on the phone who spoke fluent English. The next day I had my files and databases up and running. Today I got the final kinks out of wordpress and my site is back up to basically before this whole debacle began.
I spoke with Globat online chat support twice and each time they were able to solve my problems then and there. I sent them two emails for support and within 24 hours got an answer that solved my problem and explained to me in terms I could understand.
Plus it’s cheaper than Fuitadnet. I am very happy with this new company.
Resolution
I will be willing to retract my statement about Fuitadnet at the top of this post if:
- I get my year’s fees refunded (no way that will happen)
- I get an apology for the lack of service and the rude attitude of the last staff I talked to

February 8th, 2007 at 15:37
Hear hear! Fuitadnet sucks! They rolled back our store database to some really old version. I’ll be checking out Globat very soon. I’m sick of Fuitad trying to bill me twice every day when I’ve never authorized my credit card for automatic billing. They still do it even after I wrote an email to their billing email address (which they answered, so you were obviously being ignored in hopes you would think the address wasn’t being checked.) The only reason I stuck with Fuitad for so long was because their billing system was so screwed up that they were billing me $0 every month for over a year.
February 8th, 2007 at 21:54
Heya. If you are interested in Globat, use this referral - $5 a month instead of $7. Has nothing to do with me, some promotion they had I think.
February 10th, 2007 at 01:53
Yikes, that’s crazy. I’ve always stood by lunarpages.com. They have some insane packages (look at how much space you get!!) and they offer cpanel. I used to be hosted on powweb.com before but I didn’t like the fact they didn’t have cpanel. Glad to see things are back up for you, Jerry.
February 11th, 2007 at 08:57
Heya Justin. Good to hear from you!
April 13th, 2007 at 02:56
Oh, man. I’m currently using Fuitadnet.com myself, and am in the process of looking for a new provider. I wanted to be able to compare the services provided by Fuitad and these new prospects, so I tried visiting their site… Instead, I got a search that brought up your blog here as one of the results. I am seeing NOTHING but bad news about Fuitadnet.com (as if I didn’t already know).
To sum things up: crappy customer support and horrible downtime. They were great and cheap in the beginning, but the company silently switched hands one day and it’s been downhill ever since. I was shocked to find that they made major announcements not via e-mail, but by message board, including the time the company was sold out.
What a terrible host.
April 13th, 2007 at 06:04
Yup. It just popped over to the forum and it looks like things are just getting worse. Good luck on your search Shinkuu. I’m sure you’ll find something better. It’s probably not too hard to find a company that will actually provide what it says it will.
April 13th, 2007 at 06:09
Wow. Look at the reviews they’ve received. Yes, that’s me up there from a couple months ago.
September 15th, 2007 at 13:49
I took a look at fuitadnet, since they seem to have went silent other than IRC and the moderbill system. The forums are non-existant, and they refuse to give me the authorization code for my domain. I think the only way to get through to the guy in Canada is to start an ICANN arbitration, which will piss enom off, since Fuitadnet is a reseller.
October 13th, 2007 at 09:30
I had a similar issue. I had a domain that expired and tried for 2 weeks to get ahold of anyone at fuitadnet, no luck. I talked to the live support, they gave the ‘please email blah blah blah’ and of course I never got any response back. In fact when I tried to call the phone number listed it was ‘blocked’, so I told them via live support, next day the phone number was gone. So here is a company with no working phone number, never returns emails, broken links on it’s page, useless live support, broken forum and, and I love this.. a broken ‘complaints’ button.
I called ENOM directly, they seemed to ‘know’ about a certain website in Canada that was having ‘problems’, apparently I was not the first person to call about this. They verified my identity via a phone call, changed my admin email address and I renewed my domain. Cost me $30 and it was worth every penny. Everyone I spoke to at ENOM was wonderful, helpful and friendly. Though it may be more expensive I’m going to stay with ENOM and renew my domain through them, may cost a bit more but I’m going to avoid resellers from now on.
Stay away from fuitadnet it’s a company in a downward spiral with ZERO customer service. The sooner it goes out of business the better. I’ve since moved on to Lunarpages and they are great. Check them out, the website has photos of their workers which always makes me believe a company has pride in their work. I’ve gotten quick emails to problems, never waited more then 15 minutes to get to a live person, etc etc.
Just my 2 cents.
